Kurutta Ippêji (Một thời điên loạn) là một trong những cột mốc quan trọng của ngành công nghiệp phim câm tại Nhật từ những năm 1920, lấy bối cảnh một bệnh viện tâm thần. Đêm LIVE SOUNDTRACK (nhạc sống điện tử) lần này tại Heritage Space được khởi hứng bởi thực hành sơ khai của việc làm âm thanh cho phim câm, đặc biệt là nghệ thuật tự sự Setsumei và truyền thống Benshi (người dẫn truyện) của nền điện ảnh câm Nhật Bản. Thông qua việc sử dụng truyền thông điện tử như bộ máy điều khiển, máy tính cũng như các phương tiện và thuật toán tự lập trình khác, Iván Ferrer-Orozco đưa ra một cách tiếp cận vượt ra ngoài giới hạn đệm nhạc để tạo nên một không gian thô mộc, đem đến tinh cầu âm thanh cả các yếu tố thị giác của hiện thực lẫn các huyễn tưởng; bạo lực của các cảnh đấm đá, công việc biên tập và quay phim, quản lí thời gian, và đặc biệt là trạng huống tâm lí của các nhân vật, được tái hiện thông qua các âm thanh điện tử, tiếng động và các mẫu biến hoá. Thông qua ý tưởng về thực hành Benshi, đêm nhạc mong muốn tạo ra một bản dịch tinh thần của nhân vật, mang tới các cao trào cảm xúc cho bộ phim.

Kurutta ippeji Kurutta Ippêji (A Page of Madness), is one of the landmarks of the Japanese silent film industry from 1920’s, takes place in an asylum. The LIVE SOUNDTRACK (electronics set) this time at Heritage Space is inspired by the former practice of accompanying silent films with acoustic instruments, and especially by the narrative art of Setsumei and the Benshi tradition on silent Japanese cinema. Through the use of electronic media as controllers, computer and different devices and algorithms programmed by himself, Iván Ferrer-Orozco proposes an approach that transcends the musical accompaniment to create acoustic spaces and atmospheres, which take to the sound sphere both the visual elements of the real and the fantastic sequences; the violence of the fighting scenes, the editing and camera work, the time management, and specially the state of mind of the characters, represented through electronics sounds, noises and transformed samples. With the idea of the Benshi practice on mind, the accompaniment looks to create a translation of the psique of the characters, bringing intensity, vehemence and clarity to the film.
